Fashion week has become part of my life in the past two years. I am finally happy to share with you my experience from my first time at New York Fashion Week… The feeling of all the vibes when you are there is empowering. As the models walk down the runway, they show the new trends and sprinkle ideas around… Seeing how designers embrace trends for the new season presented in their shows is very inspiring for me.
We were scheduled to attend three days from New York Fashion Week but it was so unfortunate that due to a cancelled flight we missed most of them. The good news is that at the end we have arrived safely there and did our best to get most of the experience. We were lucky to attend a couple of shows from the official schedule and certainly my favourite one was the Marchesa catwalk. The brand presented beautiful floor sweeping dresses in stunning feminine silhouettes.
I have picked outfits for NYFW that were a mixture of distinctive pieces, because I think juxtaposing different styles is always leading to a beautiful finale. My favourite one is the combination of the metallic inspired shirt by H&M and the pop-of-colour red bag by Mezzanotte. It was the perfect eye-catcher set which definitely got the attention of the photographers. The H&M jeans finished the styling adding a bit of a retro vibe & the pointed heels & choker by Zara brought some contemporary feeling to the outfit.

Life is a journey and we are not missing out… To live is a huge adventure… and the best is yet to come!
Don’t be afraid of layering, loose silhouettes and wide leg trousers! Next summer we will have an abundance of these styles and a lot more. I have summed up my favourite key items from the WGSN forecast that is presented at Pure London. It is a useful guide on how to start preparing for next summer and also what to keep from this year’s wardrobe that will make a perfect fit for the following season!
The new goddess dress is more contemporary and less flirty. It is perfect for eveningwear and looks even more flawless in luxurious fabrics like silk, chiffon and lace. Continue Reading
The revolution of denim throughout the last couple of seasons is remarkable! Patchwork, retro styles, embellished and decorated denim are only some of the transformation of this never ageing fabric. The diversity of the denim gives you a way to wear denim clothes every day – for every mood, there is a pair of jeans or denim co-ordinates. Whether it will be the vibrant blue indigo denims with a feeling of a retro 70s style or a more statement piece with embellishments or patchwork, the denim is a must-have item for this summer!
What is your favourite denim style?
Soft neutrals and greyed off pastels were the warm and luxurious looking shades on the catwalks for AW 2015. With the combination of fine materials, these pale hues evoke a luxurious elegance. You can wear neutral head-to-toe for a more chic look or just add a neutral coat to have an earthy appeal to your outfit. One of my personal favourites is the layered styler presented by No. 21 from Milan Fashion Week.
Paris is all about chic, Milan about elegance and New York can be characterised with its luxurious diversity. London, however, is all about its unique and a bit extravagant ideas interpreted by the famous names in the industry as well as the new upcoming designers. People come to be inspired and get this creative energy in London! Take a look at the trends caught my attention at LFW 2015!
Orange is definitely the new colour for Autumn/Winter 2015. Everybody talks about this new extravagant colour that will invade our wardrobes. Burnt orange emerges on catwalk shows for autumn winter and in particular at the shows of Christopher Raeburn and Christopher Kane.
The Rich Chocolate Browns. The brown colour is an on-going trend, however, this time we see it on the catwalks in darker shades. The rich brown tones enhance the modern sophisticated appearance of the garment whether it is leather, velvet, or suede.
Less is more – the updated minimalistic look. The Minimalistic silhouettes are emerging with an accent to the minimal dress with simple shapes and soft materials. The minimalistic movement definitely became an inspiration for a lot of designers. J. JS Lee show that I attended was all about minimal sophisticated looks supported by the comfortable and elegant feel of the materials.
Denim is one of the key elements showcased on the catwalks of Marques Almeida, Ashish, Faustine Steinmetz, Christopher Raeburn at London Fashion Week. The development of the denim was also spotted at New York and Milan fashion weeks. Moschino showed beautiful patchwork denim pieces and Au Jour Le Jour demonstrated embellished and decorated denim. Chloé showed a retro silhouette with matching denim top and bottom. I am curious how this revolution of denim will continue next season..
The Wide Leg Flare Trousers emerged form a street style trend to the catwalks for this AW15 season. The super-sized 1970s silhouette is returning as a top trend and is seen on the shows of Mother of Pearl, 1205 and Holly Fulton.
Greyed Off Pastels were the warm and luxurious looking shades on the catwalks. With the combination of good materials, these pale shades evoke a luxurious elegance. One of my favourite trends is still going to be top next season!
London Fashion Week shows are a mixture of creative ideas and inspirational movements. I definitely got my creative energy and I am looking forward to be back next season!
