Do you usually follow the latest catwalk trends and implement them on your style? If you are that type of a trend follower, I am going to give you the quickest brief trend summary of the top items, must-have colours, key details and elements. WGSN hosts their trend seminar with the brief womenswear trends every season on PURE LONDON and I will share some my favourite key trends for Spring/Summer 2015 with you!
In terms of colour, pastel colours will still have their influence in summer 2015 as well as white by itself and in top-to-toe combinations. For brighter colours, orange in softer coral shades, blue and fruit pink will be present in the 2015 trend list. What kept my attention was also black and washed black as a summer colour trend for the upcoming season.
My favourite key items for outwear are the lightweight duster and the sleevless blazer. For tops, I really liked the cross over blouses trend that actually emerges from 1970s. One that will perfectly fit to my style is the off the shoulder knit and I am sure it will stay as a trend for more than one season. We have already seen the Bermuda shorts this season, but this trend will continue next season as well. Boyfriend jeans in white will be also one of the top trends for bottoms next summer as the UK figures show the demand for it has a massive increase. For dresses, we will definitely see the kimono dress in midi or full length as well as the sleevless trapeze dress mainly with above knee length. Top-to-toe trend will emerge next year whether it will be all-in jumpsuits, suits or matching co-ordinates – top and short or top and skirt.
In terms of footwear, pointed flats, T-bar sandals and espadrille loafer shoes will be on trend next season. Boxy rucksacks and big leather shopper bags in any colour will be key for the summer of 2015. What really excites me is the emerging trend of Tech accessories! The small leather phone bags and cases as well will still be on trend next summer!
I was really excited to share with you guys my experience at PURE LONDON 2014. I had the incredible chance to work with Hanna Boutique – a Bulgarian womenswear brand that took part in the trade show. I have found and met the representatives of a lot of brands from all over the world! I had the chance to talk and try some of the items of Manalena – a unique luxemburgish brand, which presents high quality contemporary womenswear. I also attended a couple of fashion & trends seminar talks and I had the chance to watch the catwalk show! I hope you enjoy the photos I have taken and the briefing of trends for next summer! x
